What Else Does Teacher Do in July??

The best apricots available at our Farmers' Market are Royal Blenheim apricots from See Canyon, Ca. They are only available for about 3 weeks, so I anxiously await their arrival each year. Just finished my last batch of apricot preserves and I hope I made enough to get me through til next July!!

  1. Yum!! I love the artwork with the recipe, too! I'm useless with watercolors so it always impresses me to see what can be done with them.

  2. Thanks. I still think watercolors are a bit intimidating (maybe because I find them unforgiving of errors in a way that acrylics and oils aren't or maybe because I haven't spent as much time with them as with the other 2 media), but, on the plus side, they dry sooo quickly, are pretty easy to transport when I am visiting others, and they take little space. Because of the Sketchbook Challenge I have tried to be more disciplined this year in sketching at least once a week and I find once I've done a sketch the page cries out for color. I have dedicated a corner of my dining room table to this. so when the mood strikes everything is right there and ready to go with no setting up necessary. I am finding the media friendlier to use as I spend more time with it. I am doing most of this in journal/sketchbook format, so at the end of the year I should have quite a collection of memories that can be stored on the bookshelf!!
